The UK to lead the effort to resettle Afghans fleeing the Taliban

What the petition asks
The UK Government to spearhead international efforts, working with NATO countries and others, to provide routes for safe passage and asylum for Afghan civilians who need to escape the Taliban.
We are watching in shock as the Taliban retake control of Afghanistan. Afghans find themselves in a terrifying reality. Humanitarian crisis is imminent. A rush to get British nationals out - but what of civilians? Their amazing commitment to British forces in developing their country came with personal risk - now they are Taliban targets. Educated girls face an unimaginable future. There was trust between Britain and the Afghan people - we have a responsibility to help them.
