Take action to ensure fair distribution of Afghan, Rohingya & Syrian Refugees

Closed 36 signatures

What the petition asks

I urge the UK Govt. to commit to accept 50,000 Afghans and urging all Govt. to make similar commitments as the refugee problem is a matter of concern to the international community and must be addressed in the context of international cooperation and fairly sharing the burden.
Britain's duty is to uphold 70 year legacy of refugee protection. In 1951, the Refugee Convention agreed by the UN offered the right not to be sent back to a place of danger to all those with a “well-founded fear of persecution”. I urge the UK Govt. to grant Refugee status to Afghan people & urging the G7 Govt. to make similar commitments. Canada, German & Bangladesh Govt. should be praised for their brave, humanitarian & compassionate approach taking unprecedented large numbers of refugees.
