Protect the Title Veterinary Nurse

What the petition asks
Protect the title ‘Veterinary Nurse’ in law so that only those that have undertaken an accredited course and sat examinations and registered with the Royal College of Veterinary. Surgeons should be allowed to call themselves a Veterinary Nurse.
It is now 60 years since the first veterinary nurse course was started and in that time we have become a regulated profession. As such we are accountable for our actions, are required to undertake a set amount of learning per year, ensuring that we keep up to date with policies and procedures. As a regulated profession we can face disciplinary action from our governing body. Yet with all this we still have not got a protected title.
