Change DVLA licencing structure.

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

Enforcement of a simple licence

Current categories D & C1 should be the same category.
I think it's about time something was done in regards to DVLA drivers licence structure.

It's all over the place and doesn't make sense. Let me start by giving you an example.

If you currently have category D entitlement, you can drive a double decker bus full of school children (100) with the average vehicle weight of roughly 20 tonne.

But you can't drive a category C1 licence,  7.5 tonne vehicle carrying non human items.

I think DVLA should automatically allow current category D holders the ability to drive C1.

This would enable more lorries being able to transport essential items across the UK.

I ask you for your support in getting the DVLA to reevaluate their strategy when they issue drivers licences.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

You may wish to sign this petition calling for a similar action: Grant additional Category C licence entitlement to current Category D holders

If you wanted to make a slightly different request you could start a new petition, but would need to provide your full name.
