Longer paternity leave for dads

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Companies should increase how much paid leave the father's get. Mother's get six months as standard and father's only get two weeks. This doesn't seem equal in any way.
Make it a legal requirement for all companies to increase their paternity leave for new dad's especially and second and third and fourth time fathers there is an unfair advantage for the woman to take more time off and men should be allowed a much longer time to spend with their new child. I believe the government should back this as we should be moving forward to equality within the workplace.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like an increase in paternity leave, but we're not sure by how much

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, or you might like to sign one of the open petitions on paternity leave that specify a time:
