All NHS hospitals to have an Adolescents Oncology wards.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I am a 17 year old cancer patient. I was diagnosed with cancer 2 months after my 17th birthday, in the eyes of the law I am a child however in the eyes of the NHS I am an adult. As a result of this I have had to have some treatments on an adult ward which means I can’t have a parent with me.
As you can imagine battling cancer at any age is hard but especially at such a young age. Therefore I am proposing that all UK hospitals have an Adolescent oncology wards for young people who need support from loved ones in such tough and challenging times.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We're sorry to hear about what you've been going through.

Decisions on the provision of specific facilities such as the provision of wards and the accompanying of patients are a matter for individual NHS trusts and not the UK Government or Parliament.
