Abolish Ofsted

What the petition asks
Ofsted is past its sell by date and is now an arm of the Tory government. The opinions of a few inspectors can condemn good, inclusive schools in deprived areas. It is no good for parents as it inspects the things that concern few and doesn’t inspect what counts, e.g #everychildmatters.
It serves no good purpose and safeguarding would be better inspected by a body that truly understands it. We need an inspectorate that helps both schools and parents to recognise what is good in schools, not what they do wrong. A deficit model will not help schools to improve.instead, it scares many and costs huge amounts of work.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We understand you'd like Ofsted to be replaced, but we're not sure what with.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
