Cease trading with the Faroe Islands and Denmark.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Since the Home Rule Act of 1948, the Faroe Islands have been a semi-autonomous region, encompassed by the external sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark.

Every year, the grindadráp takes place, known as 'the grind'.

It typically takes place between July and September and can happen at any time, at any one of the 26 designated killing bays around the islands. The Faroe Islands say they kill for food, but last time i looked they were not a starving nation.

On Sunday they slaughtered 1400 whales in one ‘grind’.

It is time we decided as a country to declare we do not respect this practice and therefore will cease all trade with the Faroe Islands and Denmark until this practice is stopped for good.
