What the petition asks
The Safe Pets and People campaign is calling for it to be made law, that all pet professionals in the UK should hold a first aid qualification.
Pet professionals include but are not limited to: Dog groomers, kennels, catteries, dog walkers, pet sitters and dog friendly hotels

For humans, in a place of work it is mandatory for someone to be a recognised first aider, and for that person to have up to date skills and knowledge, after undertaking a recognised course.
A pet first aid qualification should also be mandatory, because not only does it help those we trust to care for our pets save lives if the pet is injured, it also protects them from injury too.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you want all workers to be animal first aid trained, or for all businesses to have an animal first aider, similar to the comparison made in the petition.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
