Do not allow Central Government to mandate fluoridation of the UK water supply
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
To NOT transfer responsibility for water fluoridation from local authorities to the Secretary of State.
Health and Care Bill: water fluoridation (19/07/21) proposes "to give Secretary of State the power to directly introduce, vary or terminate water fluoridation schemes", removing this responsibility from local authorities, which are currently required to consult on such interventions. The Bill disrespects the freedom of choice of individuals to consent to a medical intervention without purchasing expensive water filters. Govt should instead focus on encouraging healthy diets low in refined sugar.
