What the petition asks
The UK media needs to be held accountable and fined for twisting facts into something they aren't and causing the public to panic. This in turn then creates the very issue the media falsely reported in the first place.
The current panic buying of fuel means those that actually need fuel cannot get it. Police, Fire, Paramedics, Blood transports, etc. The media cannot keep going with their current attitude of we can say and print whatever we like just to get clicks on a website to make the advert platforms pay them more.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the content of media reporting.
