Ban the import of multiple dogs and puppies

Closed 114 signatures

What the petition asks

Importation of multiple dogs and puppies should be banned in full, only single dogs or puppies should be allowed. Importers should be required to place the dog in a recognised kennel or rescue for a limited period. This should apply to all imports, including from Europe and Ireland with no exception
Puppy farming is causing immense problems, with some pups not living more than a few weeks after being sold, there are "industrial" sized puppy farms with dog smugglers getting thousands of pups into the country illegally. People are buying pups for a lot of money only to have them die for various reasons.
By allowing only one dog/pup to be imported it surely would not be worth the smugglers time but would still allow people to bring in a dog/puppy, it could also be easier for customs.
