Reduce university tuition fees to a more affordable £3,000 per year

What the petition asks
£9,250 per year in tuition fees for university courses is too much, and it can leave students with crippling debts from student loans and those who must pay from their own pockets can suffer considerably.
The government have the power to reduce the tuition fees of all universities across the UK down to £3,000 a year. University should be affordable for everyone without worrying about not being able to afford it. COVID-19 has also affected the quality of teaching at universities over the past two years, yet tuition fees have remained the same. Students were unable to utilise services provided by their universities as teaching was online from March 2020 to May 2021, meaning the tuition fee was not spent on in-person services that students had access to prior to the pandemic. Most universities have yet to go back to full in-person teaching. More people are being accepted to university than ever before, which would help to offset any losses from a reduction in fees to £3,000 per year.
