Disband the Road Haulage Association
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
The Road Haulage Association has failed as an industry body to address the shortfall in driver numbers. Consequently, UK supply chains are running dangerously low causing shortages of vital supplies such as food and fuel.
Remove Rod McKenzie from his post for causing fuel shortages and disband the body before replacing it with a modern and fit for purpose organisation.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
As a private trade body, any decision to wind up the RHA would be a matter for its members, not the UK Government or Parliament.
In any case, we can't accept petitions relating to appointments, including petitions which call for someone to be given, or to lose, a particular job, as petitions cannot override someone's contractual rights.
You could have a petition calling on the Government to commission a review into issues affecting the road haulage sector, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
