Scrap the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts (PCSC) Bill

Closed 499 signatures

What the petition asks

The PCSC bill will extend police powers at a time when evidence mounts over systemic abuses of power. In the week that judges ruled that the SpyCops police grossly violated the human rights of a woman, it is clear that the last thing that police need is more power. The bill should be rejected.
With public trust in the police at an all-time low, especially amongst women and minority communities, the solution to protecting our communities is to not further embolden structures which have been shown to be institutionally racist and misogynistic.

The government should channel resources into services that genuinely protect and support women, migrants and minority communities, and shift its mindset towards stopping the violence of men, rather than telling women how to keep themselves safe.
