Make CCTV mandatory in all taxis and minicabs to deter sexual assaults

What the petition asks
A law must be passed requiring the installation of CCTV in all taxis and minicabs to protect passengers.
Incidents of sexual assault in taxis need to be taken more seriously by the Government and police.
There have been reports of police logging 10,000 indecent exposure cases, but fewer than 600 reach court.
Sexual assaults have reached endemic status. CCTV should help prevent taxi drivers from assaulting women, men and children. CCTV would hinder drivers from assaulting in the first instance, and secondly provide crucial evidence.
Exposure can be a stepping stone to more serious crimes. We must act quickly to eradicate all sexual crimes.
