Make the shooting of a trespassing dog on land a specific criminal offence

What the petition asks
I want the Government to make it a specific offence for farmers to shoot dead, dogs trespassing on their land. Instead require a more humane approach, such as a stun gun that doesn’t end with the dog being killed.
I recently lost my dog to a farmer shooting him. My dog was only a year old, was very loving and a friendly, family dog. He had a funny five minutes and began attacking cows, I appreciate this isn’t ideal, but my dog did NOT deserve to die! There must be another way in which the farmers can still protect their live stock whilst not actually killing! This has destroyed my beloved dog and our family. I just want to prevent this from happening to anyone else.
