Recognise test educate all NHS professionals to administer treatment for SIBO

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

What we would like is to make awareness in all areas of the NHS, nursing gastroenterology & doctors. We are so far behind with treatments and up to date information of how to treat this condition called SIBO.
We are all about prevention, if we can make awareness of SIBO and treat at an early stage with it being recognised we can stop further health damage, people are being left to defend for themselves and can not eat, some go on to depletion of vitamins becoming undernourished and basically starving,it’s a cruel condition.
One in 10 in the U.K. have IBS, SIBO is often misdiagnosed as IBS in 84% cases,it’s behind most Ill healthy as we develop more knowledge of the microbiome. It’s becoming a pandemic.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.

Decisions about training NHS staff is a matter for the NHS, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to review diagnosis and treatment of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), if that's something you would like to happen.
