The UK Government should not join the EU vaccine passport scheme

Closed 134 signatures

What the petition asks

Following the UK's departure from the EU, we should remain outside of the European Union's bureaucratic vaccine passport scheme which pre-dates the Covid 19 pandemic by two years: https://ec.europa.eu/health/sites/default/files/vaccination/docs/2019-2022_roadmap_en.pdf
Vaccine passports are discriminatory and there appears to be a real risk they will be used domestically (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/uk-brink-joining-eu-passport-scheme-sources-confirm-nhs-system/).

The UK is now independent of the EU and should base its policy according to its own consideration of Covid 19, from March 2020 https://www.gov.uk/guidance/high-consequence-infectious-diseases-hcid#status-of-covid-19)
