Permit the use of NHS Covid-19 lateral flow tests for international travel

What the petition asks
The Government should permit the use of Covid-19 lateral flow devices issued by NHS Test and Trace when a test is required by law for international travel.
The UK taxpayer has already paid for a large number of NHS lateral flow devices, many of which are stockpiled in homes or pharmacies for future use. We believe there is no good reason why these cannot be used for demonstrating covid status for international travel.
Unlike PCR tests, lateral flow devices do not require lab processing and are already widely available for free. Passengers and the travel industry should not be further burdened with wholly avoidable costs for private tests that are imposed by Government regulations.
