Create a regulator for the EV charging network

What the petition asks
The electric vehicle (EV) charging network is critical infrastructure but it is currently left to companies to provide whatever service they feel fit. A regulator is required to ensure minimum standards set and enforced around availability, access and repair times.
The charging network is one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption and users face daily obstacles. Some effectively lock their chargers behind a paywall due to inoperable apps. Broken chargers can remain inoperable for weeks on end. Parking spaces and chargers are often badly designed making them inaccessible for disabled people.
Companies that provide critical public infrastructure should be held to a minimum standard of service.
