Single database for microchipped dogs and cats and make scanning mandatory

Closed 459 signatures

What the petition asks

Having one central data base all information would be easily accessible and the government should introduce all dogs and cats must be scanned by a vet to verify this on first visit. This would protect both the buyer and the animal
The current situation is allowing animals that are being advertised as being microchipped have no data on the chip. This means that you have no knowledge as to where the animal originated from. Also some individuals are buying chips from UK and inserting them in animals from other countries so there is no trace of the animal when you check it out.One central database would enable all information on each and ever dog and cat to be accessible without complications
