Label protein content on all food packaging

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

all food packaging has calories, fats, saturates, sugar and salt but not protein.

Protein is the most important energy resource we have available and to not have the contents visible makes more room for confusion.
Protein is the most important energy source and we need to place more importance on this and by displaying the protein percentage on all food packaging will educate more people and lead a healthier life

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Businesses selling food and drink products are already required to include a declaration of nutrition content on labelling, including the amounts (in grams (g)) of fat, saturates, carbohydrate, sugars, protein and salt.
