What the petition asks
As per "Table with details of fees and unit costs - 11 October 2021" the unit cost to the Home office is £243.
Since ILR is a necessary service for immigrants to remian legally in the UK the home office should charge more in line with the unit cost and not make a profit by charging £2389
Since ILR is a necessary service for immigrants to remian legally in the UK the home office should charge more in line with the unit cost and not make a profit by charging £2389
The reasons are:
1. ILR is a requirement to stay as a documented imigrant in the country legally and not a discretionary spend where the applicant has a choice.
2. People applying for ILR following Tier 2 or skilled worker route have paid for visa fees & have been contributing to the economy in form of the good & services they produce-consume, the taxes and NI that they pay. It is mutually benificial for the applicant to stay.
