Take action to support the establishment of democratic government in Sudan

What the petition asks
We call on the UK Government to condemn the military coup in Sudan and exert all pressure possible on the military junta and their regional allies to hand over power to a civilian-led government, refrain from using violence against protesters and free all political prisoners.
In December 2019 Sudan witnessed a popular uprising that lead to the then President being deposed. Since then it has been going through a difficult transition to democracy, derailed by the military and the rapid support forces. We believe this current coup will never be accepted by the people of Sudan and will destabilise further a region already in turmoil.
