Bring into legislation/law the right to modify and repair our vehicles
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
With the move to electric vehicles there is a push to ban modifications of vehicles. so many of us would like our right to modify and repair vehicles enshrined in legislation and law
If modification of vehicles is banned this will affect more than just poorly modified vehicles this will affect many people including van lifers, professional modifier companies and ultimately will affect the ability for people to switch to non-petroleum-based fuels. Combustion engines can be made to run on hydrogen which ultimately would be cheaper for people to have done to their vehicles
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about the possible prohibition of car modification, but the Government has not prohibited this, or announced any plans to do so.
