Link public sector pay to inflation

What the petition asks
The Government should create legislation that requires public sector pay be increased each year in line with inflation. Recent pay freezes have meant real term pay cuts for public sector workers.
The public sector pay freeze left the public sector with problems in recruitment, and was not fair on workers who work extremely hard to save lives or educate the future.
Linking public sector pay to inflation should lead to meaningful pay rises that would reward workers who kept the country afloat throughout the pandemic.
