Require any MP or Peer convicted of a criminal offence be removed from office

What the petition asks
The electorate cast their vote in a reasonable expectation that the candidate is of good character. When an MP is found guilty of any criminal offence, they have shown a disregard for the law, and broken trust and shown themselves to be unfit to be an MP. The same rule should apply to Peers.
We expect our MPs and Peers to be held to the highest standards. The Government should therefore pass legislation that will remove from office, any MP, or member of the house of Lords upon conviction of any criminal offence. When one shows no regard for the law, they have no place being involved in setting new laws.
Integrity in politics should not be optional. Convicted criminals have no place in Parliament. We the public, expect better standards of conduct to be set.
