Require planning permission for removing any trees on brownfield

Closed 90 signatures

What the petition asks

Change planning legislation so that developers on brownfield sites need planning permission from the local council to cut down any trees on that site, even if the land is privately owned and the trees do not have Tree Preservation Orders on them.
To stop loved trees in local communities being cut down on the whims of big businesses, even before planning applications have been made. Local communities across England are being trampled over by businesses buying land and then levelling it of trees without a planning submission for the site being made. We need more accountability for such local vandalism and at the minute there is no accountability.
