Abolish the House of Lords

What the petition asks
The House of Lords should be abolished, leaving the House of Commons as the sole legislative body of Parliament. This would ensure that there is no unelected body in Parliament which can influence the laws passed by the elected representatives of the people.
Our MPs should be accorded the dignity of representing the electorate they serve, without scrutiny or oversight by unelected appointees. No bill such as the admirable and vital Nationality And Borders Bill should be delayed, checked, or influenced by the input of individuals or bodies outside the electoral process.
