Present all images of skin conditions in different skin tones on the NHS website

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Require the NHS to present images of dermatological conditions in three different skin tones.
The NHS website is a resource for parents/carers and individuals in understanding problems and what to do about them. However, many images on the website are images exclusively of white skin, which can make assessing problems on darker skin more difficult than it should be. This can result in unwanted spreading of viruses like chickenpox or a failure to highlight dermatological conditions to GPs at the earlier stages.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about content on the NHS's website are a matter for the NHS, not the Government or Parliament. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
