Increase diversity of the history curriculum

What the petition asks
We urge the Government to increase the cultural breadth of the National Curriculum for History. Students should study BAME histories to a level comparable with the proportion of European history taught.
It is limiting for children to be unaware history other than white male or European history. Further, reducing their learning about other cultures to slavery and MLK provides a distorted and limited world view. This is one of the many reasons we need to refresh the national school curriculum to better reflect modern Britain.
