What the petition asks

Since Brexit, travelling in and out of the UK has become even more difficult and expensive. Pets passport was a one time cost of £60. Now vets are carghing £150-£200/certificate, and even more for rushed service. The government should cap the prices to protect consumers from vets' absurd charges

It does not seem that there are market solutions currently charging a fairer price for the service, and vets are hence free to charge exorbitant prices and justify it stating that it is a lot of paperwork. Actually, it is not. The government should cap prices to £50/certificate and create a portal that allows for an even quicker way to create certificates for vets so that practices can no longer justify charging £200/certificate.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about charges for veterinary services are a matter for individual vets, not the Government or Parliament.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to set up a national system to provide animal health certificates at a fixed cost, if that is what you want to happen.
