Remove VAT from therapy and counselling sessions.

What the petition asks
As a Psychotherapist who treats 100's of adults and children, I think it's unfair that there is VAT on such treatments and ask that the Government classify Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions as zero rated. People should not be taxed to improve their mental health.
My colleagues and I, treat clients with depression, anxiety, and more extreme presentations such as suicide ideation. As a limited company my practice can only offer annual treatment up to the VAT limit of £85,000 before needing to add VAT. This does not allow me to grow the business and help as many patients as I can, as adding VAT makes the sessions uncompetitive. The removal of VAT will allow me and others to grow their business and help more patients.
