What the petition asks

There needs to be less form filling and report writing to please Ofsted and Government to enable social workers to spend more time with children and families to prevent further deaths of children.

Because until a Government and officials understand what social work is about and that they need time away from desks to actually do the work they are asked to do, then sadly other children are likely to die at the hands of a parent or care giver.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you're concerned about the demands on social workers, however it's not clear what 'forms' and 'reports' you want them to be 'freed' from having to complete.

You could have a petition which calls for a review of social work provision in the UK, which could look at issues such as workload and reporting requirements, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
