What the petition asks

For the regularisation of prices in private clinics for COVID tests.
This could be in line with the prices in France, where a PCR test, carried out in the laboratory, is charged £37 for unvaccinated adults. In pharmacies, the PCR test costs up to £26. For an antigen test, it takes around £19.

Private laboratories abuse the utility and the obligation of testing with unaffordable prices and inappropriate timeframes for results.

This doesn’t help in the recovery of the economy nor the reopening of borders.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament is directly responsible for. Decisions about pricing at individual private clinics are a matter for those clinics, not the Government or Parliament.
