Make it easier for suffers of crohns and colitis obtain blue badges

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We aren't entitled to any benefits including free prescriptions but the least we deserve is not to be in a stressful position in which we find ourselves looking for a parking space to use facilities urgently
I have fatigue and often urgently need to use the bathroom due to 5 resections. On bad days my father has had to take me into work so if I need to pull in anywhere to use the bathroom then I don't have the worry of finding a space. I've already received a parking ticket due to this situation, I won my appeal. I know I'm not the only suffering with this

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Blue Badges are automatically awarded to people if they receive certain rates of particular benefits, but are not normally awarded because people have a specific condition. Local councils, not the Government or House of Commons, are responsible for deciding who is eligible for a blue badge.

You could start a petition calling for the Government to review the criteria for blue badges, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
