What the petition asks
Fully refund managed quarantine costs (minimum £2,285) incurred by people returning to the UK from the 11 countries added to the red list from 26 November-15 December.
Affected countries: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
Affected countries: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
It has been determined this measure was ineffective as a measure to limit the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant and has been punitive for those who had to endure not only the cost of managed quarantine but the distress caused by the organisation and quality of accommodation and meals.
