Do not close gyms and fitness facilities if there is another lockdown

What the petition asks
We would like to ask Parliament to seriously consider ensuring that gyms and health and fitness facilities are classed as essential and that they will not be forced to close if a lockdown is implemented in response to the omicron variant.
Gyms and health and fitness facilities provide a huge public service in enabling people to be physically and mentally better. We have been told that health is a priority by this Government yet gyms consistently get shut down when a lockdown is called.
We would like the Government to class gyms as essential services so they can be part of the solution against Covid. It's well known that if we increase exercise, it improves our immune systems so we are better able to fight viruses.
