Any License holder can drive a car even on someone elses insurance.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

To Change Car Insurance & Allow anyone to drive that holds a driving license even if their name is not on the policy but the car is insured. For example
My fathers car he is insured on it but i can still drive it legally. High insurance prices for youngsters are burning us down.
The only way for this to happen is if the government or parliament can speak up for us youngsters that are paying £400-£500 a month on car insurance and the job pays are extremely low. It is difficult to survive. This is why most youngsters get their license and drive without insurance because they cannot afford it and end up getting points or get their license revoked.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand you want to change the way car insurance works but we are not sure if you would like for the Government to take steps to reduce costs for young drivers or if you want to change the way the actual vehicle is insured.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what action you would like the Government or Parliament to take.

We have had petitions about car insurance in the past which we have opened, which you might find helpful, if you were to start a new petition.
