Government to delay reopening of schools after Winter holidays
Rejected
10 signatures
What the petition asks
On behalf of students and teachers around the country we are calling on the Government to delay the planned reopening of schools in the beginning of the new year
Rapidly increasing cases mean many students education is impacted, especially year 11s and year 13s. Students travel by public transport to school then stay in indoor confined classrooms together for hours meaning transmission is highly probable. Students could then spread the virus on public transport, with students and teachers and with their families. Its in the best interest both for student learning and public health for schools to delay opening until stability in cases has been reached
