Require imported goods display the value of embedded GHG emissions

What the petition asks
Consumer goods imported into the UK should be required to display the embedded GHG emissions, including; sourcing of materials; transportation of materials to transformation point; transformation of materials into finished product and transportation of the finished, packaged goods to the UK.
GHG represents the seven greenhouse gases, the main one being carbon dioxide.
This petition calls for the UK government to make it easier for the consumer to make more informed lifestyle choices – so they can weigh price, quality and performance on the one hand against embedded GHG emissions on the other simply by ensuring all imported consumer goods display the level of embedded GHG at the point of sale, in retail literature and on any packaging.
