What the petition asks
Maintain the independent status of the BBC as a national treasure by linking its income to the cost of living.
Our BBC is a national treasure that informs, educates and entertains everyone in the UK and many millions across the world. Our BBC is a hugely valuable resource that it is in the UK's interest to support and enhance.
We call upon Parliament to support this and vote against reductions relative the cost of living to the funding of our BBC. To declare their support for our treasured BBC, to commit to its continuing journalistic independence and to ensure future funding maintains and enhances the treasured national treasure that is our BBC.
