Allow TV Licence payers to make voluntary additional payments

What the petition asks
To enable the BBC to attract extra, voluntary income from TV Licence payers by allowing an optional, extra payment to be made. The standard TV Licence fee would apply to all, but Additional options would be presented to make a voluntary donation, of any amount.
The BBC is an invaluable public service. That said, the Government is making informed budgetary choices in a challenging economic environment. While many struggle, many have the funds to make an extra payment for a service that they value. By giving the TV Licensing authority the opportunity to collect extra donations, the BBC could benefit from additional income, and the Government would gain insight into the level of consumer support for the TV Licence.
