4 years for accidents, point or cancelled policy to be declared.

What the petition asks
Accidents and points should stay on your insurance just as long as the points stay on your licence: 4 years , as well as the cancelled, voided or refused insurance, 4 years.
It is not fair as anyone can make a mistake but its seems that the insurances take too much advantage of this sending people to bankruptcy and other people to break the law.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about what information to request before granting an insurance policy are a matter for individual insurers, not the Government or Parliament. As a result it is not possible for the Government or Parliament to take the action you have requested.
