Introduce fairness and efficiency measures to the Building Safety Fund (BSF)

What the petition asks
Leaseholders have received devastating 2022 service charge demands. Improvements to the BSF are needed, for example 0% VAT on all works, regulation of project managers’ fees, and protection for tenants under the Landlord and Tenant and Housing Acts, with a standardised tariff of compensation.
A 0% VAT rating on works, regulation of project managers, fair compensation tariff between landlord/tenant pro-rata funded by the BSF, enhanced residents rights, and an updated Rights To Manage process is necessary.
Key unaddressed issues mean remedial works may never start, funds deplete, owners remain unable to sell/re-mortgage and tenants remain unsafe. Their plight, solvency and mental health is under pressure. There are real risks of financial, mental health, housing, and lender crises.
