Government should credit every energy customers bill with £1K during this crisis

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Give £1000 direct to every household's energy bill for 2022
They have written off £4 billion for fraudulent furlough claims and it will save many going hungry or suffering hypothermia particularly the elderly and vunerable
They can write off a huge debt and by giving £1,000 per energy bill household it would assist greatly and allow customers to carry on spending on the high street and the government the clawback 20% VAT so therefore the actual amount given to them to help with this energy crisis would in fact only be £800 per household and would continue to help retailers

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

The Government is not responsible for paying individual energy bills, but we have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Subsidise energy prices to offset any increase in the energy price cap: Subsidise energy prices to offset any increase in the energy price cap
