What the petition asks

We want the Government to make it illegal for Service station owners to charge for forecourt "Air and Water" services. By charging for these services, it discourages drivers to check their tyre pressures, tyre condition and cleaning the windscreen of their car. Increasing the chances of an incident.

Almost three quarters of motorway incidents related to tyre failure could be prevented if drivers carry out simple checks, according to research unveiled by Highways England and tyre company Bridgestone (Tuesday 24 April 2018).
More than 30 people were killed or seriously injured in motorway accidents in 2016 due to illegal or faulty tyres.
5,147 drivers were caught with damaged tyres across England, Scotland and Wales in 2017
