What the petition asks
The belief that people from certain social or economic classes are superior to others is classism. There are policies and practices that organisations use which are classist. Put class on the Equality Act to protect people from classism and hold those who adopt classist practices to account.
Classism affects a large percentage of the population; and affects many aspects of our lives: from education and healthcare, to job opportunities and how long we’ll live. Dicrimination can often begin as a result of one’s accent or appearance.Working class people are disadvantaged at many points in their development and throughout their lives. It is morally wrong to maintain these structural barriers and allow classism to continue. Stop Classism Now.
