What the petition asks
Scrap the 1.25% national tax hike immediately. We demand the Conservative government to explore alternative options.
As we still navigate life amidst the ongoing pandemic, our Conservative government have decided that now - in the midst of an impending energy crisis, cost of living crisis, gas crisis - is the time to implement a national insurance hike of 1.25%, under the guise that this is needed to help the NHS. The results of this tax hike is going to be catastrophic, hitting low income families when they are already struggling.
